11th is over looking forward to 12th!

11th Köyceğiz Beach Handball tournament ended on 29th of June 2008. On the last day of the tournament final matches were played and organizers and teams vowed to be here next year. 12 teams in women and 15 teams in men took part in the tournament which lasted for five days; matches were played in two groups in league style; in total 90 matches were played.
At the end of the tournament Gazi University in women’s and Ataturk University in men’s became the champions of the 11th Köyceğiz Beach Handball tournament.

The first three teams in women’s were

1. Gazi University
2. Dumlupınar University
3. Niğde University

The first three teams in men’s

1. Ataturk University
2. Muğla University
3. Akdeniz University

The best goal keeper award is given to Gülsüm Duyar from Dumlupınar University in women’s and Celil Usta from Ataturk University in men’s. The highest goal scorer award went to Selma Pekmetlu from Gazi University in women’s and Aykut Altıntaş from Ataturk University in men’s. Trakya University and Gaziantep University awarded as the most gentleman team in women’s and men’s respectively.

11th KOYCEGIZ INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENT OF OPEN BEACH HANDBALL
24-29 June 2008

Dear Handball Friends,

We are happy to organize the 11th International Universities Köyceğiz Beach Handball Tournament between July 24th-29st  2008 the tournament is open for both the men and women teams.

It will be our pleasure to host you in Köyceğiz which is a famous touristic place located by the Mediterranean sea. Köyceğiz is well known with it’s sand, seashore, lake, forest all together with the historical places and party activities in the evenings.

We would like to invite you to the 11th  International Universities Köyceğiz Open-Beach Handball Tournament More detailed information will be given later if requested.

1. Each team consists of 10 players and 4 coaches and / or team leaders (total of 14).
2. The daily payment for each person (bed, breakfast and dinner) is 15 Euro during the tournament and 17 after the tournament upon request.
3. Teams will stay at the three star hotels in Köyceğiz.
4. Transportation from the airport to Köyceğiz and back to airport will be provided. Köyceğiz is 25 km. to Dalaman Airport and 60 km. to Muğla.
5. The last day for application is June 1th 2008.
